DAY 1: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PAUCARTAMBO - PILCOPATA

🚌 We begin our manu national park tour early in the morning, departing from Cusco toward the Amazon. Along the scenic route, we travel through charming Andean villages and breathtaking high-altitude landscapes. On the way, we explore the pre-Inca tombs of the Lupaca culture and the fascinating colonial town of Paucartambo, including its small museum.
🌿 As we descend into the magical cloud forest, the scenery transforms into lush greenery where we may spot the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird, as well as the elusive spectacled bear, orchids, and ferns. We stop here to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch amidst the forest.

DAY 2: PILCOPATA – PUERTO ATALAYA – AMAZON MANU LODGE – SWAMP ZONE

🚤 From Puerto Atalaya, we board a motorized boat and navigate down the Alto Madre de Dios River, where we can spot herons, vultures, and cormorants. Once we reach the lodge, we’ll have time for a refreshing swim and a hearty lunch.
🌅 In the afternoon, we explore a nearby swamp — an excellent place to observe toucans and macaws. Later that evening, we embark on a night excursion to spot caimans whose eyes glow in the dark. Without a doubt, this day adds excitement to our manu national park tour.

🛶 Before sunset, we visit Machuwasi Lake aboard rustic wooden rafts to spot hoatzins (prehistoric birds), monkeys, and capybaras. This rich, immersive day is another highlight of the manu national park tour.
