ITINERARIO
DAY 1: CHINCHERO – MARAS SALINERAS – MORAY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
We start at 6:30 AM, picking you up from your Cusco hotel for a tour of the Sacred Valley. Our first stop is Chinchero, where you’ll see an adobe colonial church built on Inca foundations and Inca ruins with agricultural terraces. Next, we visit Moray, «The Greenhouse of the Incas,» with its deep basin and varied microclimates. We then head to Maras to see the pre-Inca salt mines, where natural pink salt is produced. After a brief visit, we drive to Urubamba for lunch. Finally, we explore Ollantaytambo’s intact Inca village and massive Sun Temple ruins. We then take a 3:30 PM train to Aguas Calientes, arriving at 5:05 PM for an overnight stay.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Start your day early with breakfast and one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu to witness the sunrise. Enjoy a two-hour guided tour covering the agricultural, residential, and religious sectors of the Machu Picchu Citadel. After the tour, those with pre-booked hikes can explore Huayna Picchu Mountain, while others can return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and optional activities like shopping or visiting local attractions.
In the afternoon, take the Expedition train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, enjoying the scenic journey along the Urubamba River. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and transfer you back to your Cusco hotel, with an expected arrival by 8:00 PM.
