Itinerario
DAY 1: CITY TOUR CUSCO
We will start the tour at 12:50 pm, we will introduce you to the Imperial City of Cusco, a living example of the mixture of Andean and Spanish culture. Continuing your journey, you will visit the Convent of Santo Domingo built on top of the Koricancha, as well as the ancient Inca Palace and the main center of worship of the Sun God. Our tour continues to the truly impressive archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and its Inca military architecture, which dominates the city below. Finally, we explore the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, located in the northeast of the city. We will return to your hotel in Cusco in the early afternoon.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY
We start our journey at 7:30 am from your hotel in Cusco, driving to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. At the Mirador of Taray, enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Urubamba valley framed by traditional farming communities and majestic mountain peaks. Our next stop is the Pisac archaeological site, renowned for its vast Inca cemetery and intricate agricultural terraces carved into the mountainside. Spend approximately 1.5 hours exploring the extensive ruins, marveling at original Inca architecture.
After Pisac, we briefly visit its bustling market before heading to Urubamba for lunch, where you can savor a buffet of authentic Peruvian dishes or choose from nearby restaurants. Continuing our tour, we explore Ollantaytambo’s archaeological site for about an hour, admiring the Sun Temple, water features, Incahuatana, and well-preserved storage buildings. Our final destination is Chincheros, known for its terraces and the Church of the Virgin of the Nativity, featuring unique trapezoidal niches, a sophisticated drainage system, and a distinctive urban layout. We return to Cusco around 7:00 pm, concluding a day rich in history and natural beauty in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

DAY 3: CUSCO - MOLLEPATA- SORAYPAMPA
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:45 am and 5:30 am and embark on a scenic bus journey to Mollepata. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Anta plains, the majestic Salkantay and other snow-capped mountains, and the Apurimac River Valley. After a two-hour drive, we’ll stop in Mollepata for breakfast (not included), last-minute supplies, leg-stretching, or bathroom breaks before continuing to Challacancha. Here, we’ll meet our support staff who will load the equipment onto horses and mules.
Around 9:30 am, we’ll begin our trek toward Soraypampa (3900 meters above sea level), taking approximately 4 hours at a regular pace. Upon reaching Soraypampa, our first campsite featuring crystal domes and huts with stunning panoramic views, we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will embark on a 3-hour round trip hike to the breathtaking Humantay Lake (4200 meters above sea level) to admire the glacier lake. We will return to the campsite for a warm, delicious dinner in the evening.

DAY 4: SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS – HUAYRAMACHAY – CHAULLAY
Start your day with a wake-up call and refreshing coca tea early in the morning. At 5:00 am, we’ll have a nutritious breakfast to fuel up for the day’s challenge. By 6:00 am, we’ll begin the toughest segment of the Salkantay trek, ascending to its highest point.
As we hike 6 kilometers uphill through stunning Rocky Mountain scenery, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Salkantay Mountain. Upon reaching the highest point of the trek, we’ll be rewarded with spectacular vistas of the mountains and the towering, snow-capped Salkantay peak, standing at 6264 meters above sea level, the second-highest mountain in the Cusco region.
After a 2-hour descent, we’ll stop for a delicious Peruvian lunch around 1:00 pm in Huayracmachay. We then continue our hike with a 3-hour downhill trek to Chaullay, arriving at our campsite (2900 meters above sea level). Here, we’ll stay in charming Indian huts. At 6:00 pm, we’ll gather for dinner, replenishing our energy after the day’s trek.Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, snacks, afternoon tea and dinner

DIA 5: CHAULLAY - COLLPAPAMPA – LA PLAYA – LUCMABAMBA
At 6:00 AM, we begin our trek to La Playa through the lush Santa Teresa valley. Over six hours, we’ll encounter rivers, waterfalls, wild orchids, and plantations of coffee, bananas, and avocados. Enjoy tasting passion fruit and granadilla along the way. Passing through Colpapampa, observe waterfalls, diverse bird species, and if lucky, Peru’s national bird, the «Cock of the Rocks.»
After lunch at La Playa, we hike 20 minutes to our base camp in Lucmabamba (2400m). Explore the tropical forest and visit an organic coffee farm, where you can taste freshly prepared coffee or simply enjoy its rich aroma. Optionally, visit the hot springs of Santa Teresa, a 2-hour round trip by van (50 soles extra).

DAY 6: LUCMABAMBA - LLACTAPATA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Start your day early with a hot cup of coca tea and a hearty breakfast. Begin hiking a segment of the renowned Inca Trail, ascending for 2 hours with stunning views of the Santa Teresa valley. Reach Llactapata Inca site for the first glimpse of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Machu Picchu Mountain.
After exploring Llactapata, continue with a 2-hour downhill hike to the Hidroelectrica train station for lunch, passing a 300-meter waterfall. Visit Intiwatana, an ancient Incan sundial rock. Follow the train tracks to Aguas Calientes, choosing either a train ride ($38 extra) or a 3-hour hike through the cloud forest. End the day in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 7: THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY – MACHU PICCHU!
Today marks the grand finale of our trek: a visit to the iconic Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll wake up early at our hostel to reach Machu Picchu at dawn, beating the crowds and enjoying the serene morning light. The entrance checkpoint opens from 6:00 AM until 3:00 PM. We will hike up (or opt for a $12 bus ride) to the hidden Royal Citadel of the Incas. There, a 2-hour guided tour will take us through the ancient city’s temples, terraces, palaces, sundial, industrial sector, and farming fields, showcasing the advanced engineering of the Incas.
After the guided tour, you have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for an extra $60 (tickets must be booked in advance). Each mountain takes about 3 hours to hike up and down. You’ll have 3 hours in total to explore and soak in the magic of Machu Picchu. The site’s impressive design, without modern tools or materials, highlights the genius of the Incas in creating a sustainable, beautiful community on a mountainside, complete with water canals.
After exploring, we’ll hike back down to Aguas Calientes for the train ride to Ollantaytambo at either 4:22 PM or 6:20 PM (subject to availability). A group minivan will be waiting to transport us back to Cusco, dropping us off at Plaza San Francisco. Rest your feet and body, but know that your heart will soar with the memories of this incredible journey for years to come!

DAY 8: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PAUCARTAMBO - PILCOPATA
We will pick you up from your hotel between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM and begin our ascent through the Andes to the Paucartambo region. Along the way, we’ll visit the ancient funeral towers of Ninamarca before reaching Ajanaco at 3600 meters. From here, we’ll descend into the enchanting cloud forest, rich with beautiful orchids, heliconias, and ancient ferns.
We’ll make a stop in the cloud forest, hoping to witness the vibrant mating ritual of the cock-of-the-rock. There will also be opportunities to spot various bird species such as the paraguan bird, trogons, quetzals, and oropendolas. The area is also home to the elusive spectacled bear.
As dusk falls, we’ll arrive at the village of Pilcopata. We’ll spend the night at the Manu Green Lodge, which offers comfortable accommodations with bathrooms and showers
DAY 9: PILCOPATA - ATALAYA - LAGOON MACHUWASI- LODGE
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a jungle exploration, visiting a coca plantation and encountering a variety of birds, plants, and monkeys to immerse ourselves in wildlife experiences. Our journey continues to the port of Atalaya, where we board a boat to cruise along the upper Madre de Dios River. Along the way, we’ll pause to hike a trail and perhaps take a refreshing dip in the local hot springs before proceeding to our lodge.
Following lunch, we’ll venture into the jungle to explore the Machuhuasi lagoon by raft. This vibrant area teems with wildlife, offering opportunities to spot species like shanshos, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, and tapirs. A captivating night walk concludes our activities, providing a glimpse into nocturnal jungle life. Finally, we’ll spend the night at Paititi Lodge, featuring private bathrooms and showers for comfort.
DAY 10: PARROTS CLAY LICK - LAKE MARAVILLA
In the early morning, we will embark on a 25-minute boat ride to the parrot clay lick, where mineral-rich clay attracts various species of parrots for observation. Following this visit, we will enjoy breakfast. The remainder of the morning will be dedicated to hiking through the forest, culminating at the private Wonder Lagoon viewpoint. From here, we can observe a diverse array of birds, monkeys, and dwarf caimans.
After returning to our lodge for lunch and some relaxation, the afternoon and evening will be filled with guided hikes along forest trails to discover a wealth of wildlife, including insects, frogs, and spiders. We will spend the night at Lodge, surrounded by the sounds and sights of the Amazon jungle.
DAY 11: LODGE - ATALAYA - CUSCO
Following a delightful breakfast, we will travel by boat from Paititi back to Atalaya. There, our bus awaits to take us on the return journey to Cusco, passing once more through the captivating cloud forest. We anticipate arriving in Cusco around 7:00 PM, bidding farewell to the lush jungle and stunning Andean scenery.
At 8:00 pm you have to take the bus to Puno

DAY 12: UROS ISLAND – AMANTANI ISLAND
We will pick you up from the bus terminal in Puno at 7:30 AM and head to the port to embark on our journey to Los Uros. After a 30-minute boat ride, we will arrive at our destination, where we will visit two islands. The island families will greet us warmly and share their way of life, explaining how they build and maintain their floating islands. You will have the option to ride on a traditional totora reed raft (not included in the package), also constructed by the families. Additionally, you can purchase souvenirs handmade by the islanders, which reflect their rich culture.
Next, we will set off for Amantani. After a three-hour journey, we will arrive and be welcomed by the villagers, who will take us to their homes for our stay. We will have lunch with our hosts and take a short rest. In the afternoon, we will embark on a one-hour uphill hike to explore two Inca ceremonial temples and enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca before descending. In the evening, after dinner, we will have the opportunity to engage with the community during a cultural gathering.

DAY 13: TAQUILE ISLAND – CUSCO
After breakfast, we will depart for Taquile. Upon arrival, we will begin our walk to the main square to meet the villagers and admire their world-renowned textile art, which is a significant expression of their culture. Following this, we will enjoy lunch at a typical island restaurant.
At 3:30 PM, we will arrive at the port of Puno and take a brief tour of the city before dropping you off at Puno’s main square.
