Itinerario

Explore Lima, Peru's capital, known for its world-class cuisine and colonial history

We will pick you up at your hotel (hotels in Barranco, Miraflores, San Isidro, or Downtown Lima only) at 2:00 pm approx. and take you on a fascinating walking tour through our historic center.

We will show you the palaces and castles that our city hides, we will also take you to the San Francisco Monastery and the impressive subway catacombs.

We will also visit the most important square in the whole country; «La Plaza de Armas», and other great places such as: Jiron del Union, La Torre Dominicos, the historic bridge of Rimac, charming colonial wooden balconies and many more attractions, then we will start with the guided tour to the «Magic Water Circuit», the largest fountain complex in the world, certified by Guinness Word Records. Here you will enjoy a wonderful spectacle of water and light, presented in the famous Parque de la Reserva, one of the most beautiful urban spaces in Lima

We will meet at various locations starting at 4:30 AM, departing Lima at 5:30 AM for Paracas. Arriving at 9:30 AM, we’ll embark on a tour to Ballestas Islands to see sea lions, penguins, and birds, including the Candelabra. At 11:30 AM, we head to Ica, reaching Huacachina by 1:00 PM for oasis views and photos. Visit Chocolatería Noelia for local treats. At 3:00 PM, explore Bodega Nietto for wine and pisco tasting. Optionally, stop at Bodega Racimo de Uvas in Chincha for more tastings and cultural activities. We will start the tour at 12:50 pm), we will introduce you to the Imperial City of Cusco, a living example of the mixture of Andean and Spanish culture. Continuing your journey, you will visit the Convent of Santo Domingo built on top of the Koricancha, as well as the ancient Inca Palace and the main center of worship of the Sun God. Our tour continues to the truly impressive archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and its Inca military architecture, which dominates the city below. Finally, we explore the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, located in the northeast of the city. We will return to your hotel in Cusco in the early afternoon.

We start our journey at 7:30 am from your hotel in Cusco, driving to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. At the Mirador of Taray, enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Urubamba valley framed by traditional farming communities and majestic mountain peaks. Our next stop is the Pisac archaeological site, renowned for its vast Inca cemetery and intricate agricultural terraces carved into the mountainside. Spend approximately 1.5 hours exploring the extensive ruins, marveling at original Inca architecture.

After Pisac, we briefly visit its bustling market before heading to Urubamba for lunch, where you can savor a buffet of authentic Peruvian dishes or choose from nearby restaurants. Continuing our tour, we explore Ollantaytambo’s archaeological site for about an hour, admiring the Sun Temple, water features, Incahuatana, and well-preserved storage buildings. Our final destination is Chincheros, known for its terraces and the Church of the Virgin of the Nativity, featuring unique trapezoidal niches, a sophisticated drainage system, and a distinctive urban layout. We return to Cusco around 7:00 pm, concluding a day rich in history and natural beauty in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime on the Classic Inca Trail! Your guide will pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 4:30 a.m., and we’ll head to Kilometer 82, the starting point of the trail. On the way, we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast in Ollantaytambo around 6:307:00 a.m.

Arriving at KM82 around 8:30 a.m., we’ll get organized, use the restrooms, and apply sunscreen and insect repellent. You’ll meet the porter and hand over your duffel bag, keeping a small daypack with essentials. At the trail checkpoint, have your passport and student ID (if applicable) ready.

Starting the hike at 2,720m (8,923ft), you’ll cross the Vilcanota River and follow a scenic route with views of the Inca Fortress of Huillca Raccay, the Llactapata site, the Urubamba mountain range, and the snowcapped peak of Veronica. We’ll stop for a gourmet lunch at Hatunchaca, then hike a few more hours to our first campsite near Wayllabamba (3,000m/9,842ft).Temperatures at night can drop to 5ºC, especially from May to September. When you arrive at camp, your tent will be set up, and afternoon tea and appetizers will be waiting for you. Enjoy a comfortable rest to prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Your guide will wake you up at 5:30 a.m. with a hot mug of tea or coffee. Enjoy this comforting drink in your sleeping bag before getting up for a delicious, hearty breakfast. With your daypacks as light as possible, you’ll start a steep ascent towards the highest pass, Abra de Warmihuañusca, also known as Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200m/13,779ft).

As you climb, you’ll see hummingbirds and various other bird species, with plenty of time to appreciate the diverse native plants and the unique Polylepis, or Q’ueuña trees, in the stunning cloud forest at (3,650m/11,972ft). Reaching the top of the pass will give you a great sense of achievement! After a welldeserved break for photos, you’ll begin your descent to the lunch spot at Pacaymayu (3,550m/11,646ft). Following a gourmet lunch, you’ll tackle a twohour steep climb towards Runkuraqay pass (4,000m/13,123ft). You’ll arrive at your campsite by 5 p.m., where afternoon tea and appetizers await. Nighttime temperatures at this campsite are around 4ºC.

Day three is the most impressive so far, so keep that in mind as you ascend! Your guide will wake you up at 6 a.m. with a hot mug of tea or coffee in your tent before you get up for breakfast. The day begins with a gentle climb towards the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, meaning «Village in the Clouds,» reaching the third highest point on the Inca trail (3,680m/12,073ft). The views of the mountains, canyons, and surrounding areas are absolutely spectacular!

Phuyupatamarca, an extensive Inca site, is just a few minutes’ walk from the third pass. After exploring this site, you’ll continue descending 3,000 steps through the cloud forest to the impressive Inca site of Intipata. As you descend from the mountains, you’ll feel the temperature rise, signaling your approach to Machu Picchu and the edge of the Amazon jungle. After visiting Intipata, you will continue to the third campsite at Wiñay Wayna (2,680m/8,792ft), arriving by lunchtime after about 4 to 5 hours of walking. Nighttime temperatures here are around 12ºC.

A short walk from your campsite is the famous Inca site of Wiñay Wayna, meaning «Forever Young» in Quechua. This site is named after a special orchid that grows abundantly in the area.

Wake up at 3:30 AM for a 4:00 AM breakfast and be ready at the checkpoint to start trekking by 5:30 AM. The final leg leads to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) by 6:00 AM, where you’ll witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Machu Picchu Citadel.

From the Sun Gate, walk downhill to the citadel, entering through the «House of the Guardians,» a perfect spot for iconic photos. Proceed to the control point to register and store large backpacks or walking poles. Your guide will provide a twohour tour of Machu Picchu, highlighting its history and key areas, including the agricultural, residential, and religious sectors.

After the tour, explore and take photos at your own pace. If booked, enjoy the extra hike up Huayna Picchu. When ready, take the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). Depending on your train departure time, you may have time for shopping, sightseeing, or visiting the museum or hot springs. The Expedition Train at 2:55 or 3:20 PM will take you back to Ollantaytambo, where our driver will meet you and drive you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving by 7:00 PM.

We’ll pick you up at 8:30 am from your hotel in Cusco to start our tour. Our first stop is Salineras, where you’ll see 3,000 small salt pools filled with water from a natural spring. The salt is harvested after it evaporates, processed, and distributed locally.

Next, we visit Moray, an archaeological site with impressive circular agricultural terraces. These terraces, at an altitude of 11,318 feet, were used by the Incas to test different growing conditions for various crops, acting like natural greenhouses. After exploring Moray, we’ll return you to your hotel in Cusco.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 AM to start our Rainbow Mountain Trek adventure. The journey includes a scenic 3-hour drive through the South Valley to the trailhead in Llacto (4,638 m / 15,216 ft), offering stunning views of Inca terraces, traditional villages, valleys, and Andean peaks along the way.

In the morning, you’ll see herds of alpacas and llamas near our breakfast spot. Starting our hike alongside a picturesque stream, we enjoy views of Mount Ausangate and its glaciers. Interact with local Quechua-speaking communities and learn about their traditional attire and culture. After a 1.5-hour hike, we reach Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m / 16,466 ft), where we’ll spend about 30 minutes admiring the view. You can also opt to hike to the top of Red Valley, an additional 45-minute climb.

After taking in the scenery, we hike back for an hour before enjoying a well-deserved lunch. Then, we drive back to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 PM. At 10:00 PM, you will take the bus to Puerto Maldonado.

Upon arrival at the airport or bus station, our team will welcome you and transfer you to the Monte Amazónico Lodge office for a brief orientation. Then, we will take a one-hour boat ride to our lodge, where we will offer you a refreshing juice made from regional fruits.

After settling in, we will take a guided walk through the rainforest. During this excursion, you can see centuries-old trees and a variety of wildlife such as toucans, parrots, monkeys, snakes, and butterflies in the Tambopata National Reserve.

After lunch, we will visit the «Monkey Island» to observe various species of monkeys such as the brown capuchin and squirrel monkey. We will return to the lodge for dinner, and in the evening, we will go out to look for caimans along the banks of the Madre de Dios River. With luck, we might also see capybaras, the largest rodents in the world.

We wake up early, at 4:30 am, to head to the Collpa Chuncho, the largest macaw clay lick in the world. The boat trip takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which we might spot capybaras, tapirs, and even jaguars.

At the clay lick, we will observe hundreds of parrots and the three most colorful species of macaws in America that gather to eat clay, creating an impressive natural spectacle. After a good breakfast, we will take the boat back to Puerto Maldonado and then to the lodge to settle in.

After lunch, we will visit the «Monkey Island,» where we will find various species of capuchin monkeys. In the evening, we will go out in search of white caimans along the banks of the Madre de Dios River and, with luck, see capybaras. We will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, we will walk 3 km through the dense rainforest to Sandoval Lake, one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve and home to piranhas. We will take a boat ride, observing a wide variety of birds and monkeys of different species, such as shanshos, cormorants, jacanas, herons, vultures, howler monkeys, black capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, tamarins, and sloths.

We might also encounter a family of giant otters, which reach almost two meters in length and are endangered, and the largest caimans recorded, over 4 meters long.

Then, we will return to the lodge for a typical lunch. In the evening, we will take a walk to appreciate the diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal animals. Finally, we will enjoy dinner and rest.

At 5:30 a.m., we will start a small walk on the Canopy Walkway, 30 meters high, allowing us to appreciate nature from above and enjoy a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms, we will observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, and orioles. It will be a wonderful experience.

After breakfast, we will return to the city and transfer you to the bus station to go Puno

We will pick you up from the bus terminal in Puno at 7:30 AM and head to the port to embark on our journey to Los Uros. After a 30-minute boat ride, we will arrive at our destination, where we will visit two islands. The island families will greet us warmly and share their way of life, explaining how they build and maintain their floating islands. You will have the option to ride on a traditional totora reed raft (not included in the package), also constructed by the families. Additionally, you can purchase souvenirs handmade by the islanders, which reflect their rich culture.

Next, we will set off for Amantani. After a three-hour journey, we will arrive and be welcomed by the villagers, who will take us to their homes for our stay. We will have lunch with our hosts and take a short rest. In the afternoon, we will embark on a one-hour uphill hike to explore two Inca ceremonial temples and enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca before descending. In the evening, after dinner, we will have the opportunity to engage with the community during a cultural gathering.

At 3:30 PM, we will arrive at the port of Puno and take a brief tour of the city before dropping you off at Puno’s main square.

Discover Arequipa, the White City surrounded by volcanoes and famous for its colonial architecture

We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 1:00 PM to start our tour. Our first destination is the Carmen Alto Viewpoint in Cayma, offering stunning panoramic views of the Chilina Valley and its terraced landscapes, with the Misti, Chachani, and Pichupichu volcanoes in the backdrop. Next, we’ll visit Yanahuara, known for its distinctive Yanahuara Arches made from sillar volcanic stone. Here, we’ll explore the main square and church of Yanahuara. Moving on to Arequipa’s historic center, we’ll visit the Plaza de Armas to learn about the history of the Arequipa Cathedral and its surrounding porticos. Afterward, we’ll visit the Church of the Society of Jesus for insights into its history and architecture, including its elegant sillar stone cloisters. Our tour continues with a visit to Casa Tristán del Pozo, celebrated for its façade, considered a prime example of Arequipa’s distinctive ornamentation. We’ll then explore the Plaza and Church of San Francisco, known for its architectural beauty. Our final stop is the Santa Catalina Monastery, a colonial citadel showcasing the nuns’ living quarters, streets, avenues, and cemetery. The tour concludes at 6:00 PM.

Hotel Pickup in Downtown Arequipa between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.

Our journey begins towards one of the world’s deepest and most spectacular canyons, with Chivay as our base of operations, approximately a 4-hour drive including tourist stops. Along the route, we’ll traverse the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, observing vicuñas in their natural habitat. At Patahuasi, a brief stop allows us to enjoy traditional coca tea, essential for altitude sickness prevention (soroche).

We’ll also visit the Toccra Wetlands, where alpacas graze freely, and the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point at 4,800 meters above sea level, offering stunning views of the western mountain range. Chivay is just 40 minutes away from this viewpoint.

Arriving in Chivay by 12:30 PM, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch followed by check-in at our respective hotels. In the afternoon, relax in thermal baths with temperatures ranging from 35°C to 38°C.

06:00 AM – Breakfast. We will then head to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, located 30 minutes away. This is the prime observation point for the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the condors. We will spend approximately 45 minutes here to fully appreciate the canyon’s beauty.

On our return, we will stop at various viewpoints to admire the impressive terraced landscapes of the valley. We will also visit the village of Maca, where you can see its church and optionally taste local beverages such as the Colca Sour, made from regional ingredients.

01:15 PM – We will begin our return journey to the city of Arequipa. If we missed any attractions on the first day en route to Chivay, we will have the opportunity to stop and visit them on the way back, weather and group permitting.

04:30 PM – Arrival in Arequipa, where we will drop you off near the Plaza de Armas.
