On the way we will visit the funeral towers of Ninamarca and then arrive at Ajanaco at 3600m. From here we will descend into the cloud forest, which is full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. With some luck we will be able to observe the cock of the rock, paraguan bird, trogons and many others. This area is also inhabited by the spectacled bear. After this long trek, in the afternoon, we will arrive at the village of Pilcopata. Overnight in our Manu Green Lodge with shared bathrooms and showers.

After breakfast we will walk in the jungle and then take the bus to Atalaya, where we will board a boat and navigate the upper Madre de Dios River. On the way we will see: herons, egrets, the kingfisher or the jungle condor. In the afternoon we will stop at Boca Manu to enjoy a refreshing drink and later arrive at the lodge with shared bathrooms and showers.

The boat ride will make us understand why Manu is so famous. On the banks of the river you will be able to see turtles, white caimans, capybaras among others and maybe even a jaguar. In the afternoon we will arrive at our campsite in Otorongo and we will be the only agency in this area. Later we will visit the trails around Otorongo Lake and the giant otter observation tower. You will learn about the functions and secrets of this rainforest. There we will spend the night in a camping of typical huts with mosquito nets, shared bathrooms and showers.

Today we will visit Salvador Lake, located 1 ½ hours from Otorongo. Here, at the silent pace of the catamaran, you will have the chance to see a family of giant otters, black caimans and different rare animals, such as: the crested eagle or the glass frog. In this area the animals never suffered the persecution of hunting. In the afternoon we will return to Otorongo to spend the night.

The cries of the howler monkey will wake us up and after breakfast we will start our return. On the Manu River you will see different animals that you may not have seen on the way in. Then in the afternoon we will arrive at our lodge in Boca Manu, where we can rest.

Today we will navigate against the current in the upper Madre de Dios River, on the way we will see many species of animals in the trees and on the banks of the river. At sunset we will arrive at the Paititi lodge with showers and shared bathrooms. In this place we can also see beautiful hummingbirds.

After a delicious breakfast, we will sail to Atalaya, where we will take the bus to return to Cusco, passing again through the cloud forest. Finally, we will arrive in Cusco around 7:00pm leaving behind the lush jungle and Andean landscapes.
