We’ll wake you up this morning with a hot cup of coca leaf tea to help you acclimatize and start the day perfectly. This leaf has been used for centuries for this very purpose. As you open your tent, you’ll witness the magical dawn light dancing on the enormous glacier, which glistens and sparkles in the sunlight. Following this, we’ll enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast to fuel our journey.

Our trek begins with a two-hour uphill climb to the Puca Pass (4,870 m / 15,977 ft). Along the way, you’ll see an eroded mountain, stunning high Andean valleys, and, if you’re lucky, the majestic condor in flight—the largest flying bird in the world. You’ll also encounter the beauty of glacial lagoons like Huchuy Pucacocha and Hatun Pucacocha, perfect for capturing memorable photos.

Later, we’ll descend for an hour and a half to Anantapata, our lunch spot, where you’ll enjoy another delicious meal. We’ll then ascend for two hours to the Warmisaya Pass (4,985 m / 16,354 ft). You’re in for another early start today as our trek reaches its climax. After an energizing breakfast, we’ll set out to explore the famous Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain. We’ll begin with a two-hour ascent to the pass located at 5,100 m (16,732 ft). From here, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the spectacular Rainbow Mountain, a sight so surreal it feels like a dream.

Our guide will explain the unique characteristics of these mountains. The impressive array of colors is due to sedimentary layers of minerals exposed by erosion. This natural phenomenon can only be seen in two places in the world: Peru and China. Take this opportunity to connect with the mountain’s energy and revel in the unique landscape.

After ample time to soak in the surreal scenery, we’ll walk for an hour to Llacto, where a delicious lunch awaits. We’ll conclude our day and epic adventure with a three-hour drive in our private transport, dropping you off at the door of your accommodation in Cusco.
